Cabbage is a moisture-loving and rather demanding vegetable crop. Just planting seedlings is not enough. Sometimes preparation and care for cultivation begins in the fall, when it is necessary to prepare a plot for planting cabbage in the spring.

This leads to the fact that many do not like to do it. Especially if the question is about how to grow cauliflower in the open field. A tasty, healthy, beautiful vegetable crop, the harvest of which can be harvested from the last days of April to the beginning of May.

Bulls are medium in size, weighing 1, 5-2 kg. Grown to normal size, it quickly breaks. The brightest cabbages, like other vegetables, are large seeds with broad foliage, and seedlings grown from such seeds are much stronger. Therefore, cabbage seeds are harvested and sown only the largest, which does not pass through the holes in the grid with a diameter of 1, 25 mm. Sorted seeds are checked for germination, and they are stained with formalin.

First of all, you need to calculate how many seeds you want to grow for the cabbage field, how many seeds you need and how much you need to finish the insects to grow them. From a single inspection window, you can grow microbes as needed for 5-6 inspection windows for windows.

Many centuries ago it was cultivated in Syria. That is why it has the second name - Syrian cabbage. Another medieval physician Avicenna advised how to eat this vegetable raw as much as possible. A little later, traders begin to transport cabbage to different countries. But in European countries, it appears only in the eighteenth century.

Early cabbage sown as early as possible. But he didn’t sow right away, but at short intervals, so the work is not coordinated for a long time. As a rule, early cabbage begins to be sown in insects or greenhouses in early March. About 15 g of seeds are sown per square meter of greenhouse, or. 3-4 g per box.

Take fresh water from the soil by adding turmeric. After smoothly leveling the surface of the inspection, every 5 cm is made of thieves, which are sown at equal distances. It is advisable to pollinate chalk with seedlings without seed. Cold seeds can be eaten more easily and evenly. The seeds are inserted no more than 1 cm deep, immersed through a sieve, and the ground is covered with a table. To protect against disease, the earth’s surface is surrounded by a thin layer of ash.

Very few people managed to cultivate it because of the climate. Therefore, for a long time, it was left overseas delicacy intended for rich people. But today, thanks to the hard work of breeders, managed to bring the varieties that get along perfectly in all regions.

The extraordinary taste and weight of nutrients made this vegetable quite popular.

As soon as the seedlings begin to be cut out of the ground; The supplies are removed, the vents are ventilated and the temperature is reduced to 6-8 ° C. The windows are sheathed at night. For sowing seeds, the reduced temperature is maintained for 4-5 days. The main job of care is to ensure that the seedlings do not dry out and receive as much daylight as possible. Poured interiors and, if necessary, water cooling.

Two weeks after sowing, the stalks are suitable for peak in peat puddings. Seasoning in cups. Experience shows that germination in freshly brewed cups is better than tasting them in winter and frozen cups. Seedlings are well washed with water before leaving the inspection. Then they rise from the ground and are placed in small boxes that are transported to the place of exhaust. Only strong, well-developed and healthy cabbage seedlings are cut. The plant is taken for seedlings and placed in a hole in the cup before it.

Growing it is absolutely simple, no more difficult than the usual varieties of white cabbage. It is a real pleasure to grow, plant, care, observe growth and development. Especially when you enjoy the taste of an overseas beauty grown on your own plot. After all, it is a plant that carries a rich set of vitamins and trace elements.

If the root is very long, the third part of this trait. The hole is covered with the mass of the same cup taken from its upper edge, and if the bowl pit is wide, it is covered with a mixture of turf and puddings. Stuffed cups are placed in the finished insect. When they are flattened, the seedlings run in the water, and the surface of the cups is detected using a non-stick layer.

An experienced worker spends up to 6 thousand shoots per day. Temperature controlled by ventilation. It is necessary to ensure that the seedlings do not dry out and that during the inspection there is no excessive moisture. Many inspection windows are not closed and evaporated. In order for plants to get as much daylight as possible, check the windows daily and clean them.

Among which are:

  • fluorine;
  • molybdenum;
  • tartronic acid;
  • a large amount of vitamin C and other components, which are not so much in the usual varieties.

It is a bit more demanding than other vegetables and cabbage, in particular. But for great efforts, she is ready to reward us with a bountiful harvest, beginning in the second half of May, and continue to amaze until late autumn.

After 8-10 days after cabbage germination, use a solution of mineral fertilizers, bake 20 g of ammonium nitrate, 40 g of superphosphate and 10 g of potassium chloride. To make fertilizer better in cups, seedlings are cleaned with clean water before each additional fertilization.

Sometimes the mouse takes a lot of damage. It is advisable to pollinate hexachlorides from mice that are infected with protection against mosquitoes. Before planting on the field, seedlings begin to harden. Preparation of seedlings growing in cups for planting. Accept water for baking: 30 g of ammonium nitrate, 80 g of superphosphate.

Varieties, their features

For our strip and regions a fairly large number of cauliflower species has been eaten. As well as the white one, it is divided by species into:

  • early maturing
  • mid-season;
  • late maturity

Nowadays, there is an incredible range of varieties. Moreover, their differences are not only the quality of inflorescences, but also their colors. So, you can meet the snow-white, pleasantly green, orange, bright blue-gray cauliflower. Regardless of this, all varieties have an exceptional taste, have high nutritional properties.

Therefore, the plants are rich in mineral fertilizers. The cups are carefully taken from insects, and all plants without a syringe, poorly developed or infected with diseases, are rejected. Selected seedlings are placed in small containers and contaminated with hexachlorane through a gauze bag. Seedlings are transported into the field with extreme caution, as cramps that are not installed and carefully transported, can be laid out.

Landing. Early cabbages are planted in the soil when they are grown. Early cabbages are planted either in a square or in the usual manner. If you cut a cabbage with a triangle, you can scrub it and pick it from three sides, and especially manual labor. However, this form of a regular triangular fit is more complex and requires a more careful fit. Flat and triangular early cabbage gives a later harvest and thinner, less useful nails.

Due to its exceptional taste, vegetables are eaten raw, boiled, baked, fried, frozen, and tasty winter pickles are prepared.

Cauliflower seedlings: subtleties

Growing cauliflower in the open field or in the greenhouse is almost the same as the types of culture that are more common to us. She, like many other species, planted seedlings, you can sow cabbage and seeds directly into open soil. But more profitable, productively plant cauliflower seedlings.

Meanwhile, producers are waiting for an earlier harvest and larger hounds. When removing early cabbage hands, try to keep as many leaves as possible, as their forearms increase by 3-4 guys. Consequently, the second crop is obtained. The second crop of early cabbage heads is hard and often weighs 0, 5–1 kg. Some of these dogs can be implemented, and the other - livestock or matured.

The head of the red cabbage is different from the color of the white-headed leaves. The leaves of the red cabbage head are dark purple. Their hips are well preserved during the winter, mainly used as a salad for various dishes. Diversity. The head of red cabbage grows longer on a white background, so their shoots are grown by insects or heat. They are also divided, like headed white cabbage, into early, middle early, and late.

Thanks to this method, the ripening period is reduced, the quality of the ovaries is improved. When wondering how to grow cauliflower seedlings, you need to remember that only two methods are used:

  • normal, but it will be necessary to dive cauliflower;
  • in separate small containers of one, two seeds.

Both ways are effective. But, if you need to dive, you can damage the rather fragile root system. Therefore, experienced gardeners, gardeners prefer to plant at home in separate pots. Moreover, it is advantageous to use peat tanks, with which the seedlings then land in the ground.

Early Erfurt - an early breed, with small skulls, suitable for use in the summer. Growing and maintaining a red-headed cabbage resembles white cabbage. Turmeric cabbage also belongs to the group headed cabbages. Their leaves are curly, tender, and their hips are always softer than the head of white cabbage. Turmeric cabbage is not suitable for tanning, but it contains more nutrients than cabbage.

Early breed, small, soft, green, suitable for summer use. Mezhechka is large, green, almost spherical, rather solid. Food suitable for autumn and winter. Agricultural technology and rough work is the same as white-headed cabbage.

Strong, healthy seedlings - this is only possible when the seeds are planted in loose, fertile soil.

Soil for strong seedlings

Experienced gardeners recommend planting cauliflower seeds in boxes, pots that are filled with a special soil mixture. It has a sufficient number of necessary components for seedlings, and also passed the preliminary stage of disinfection. This is important because any cabbage is subject to many fungal diseases.

Cauliflower comes from the island of Cyprus. Cauliflower is very common on the outskirts of the Mediterranean. Cauliflower is a very valuable diet for children and patients, because cauliflower has a light, digestible protein and low protein content.

Cauliflower heads are used as a separate meal for meals, including soup and canned food. Cauliflower seeds are small. The period of vegetation of different varieties of cauliflower is uneven. Breed suitable for the cultivation of spring and autumn. Place in a crop rotation Cauliflower grows well only in well-cultivated and cultivated soil. In small and dry soils, the heads become small. Native apple plants are planted in the first or second year after organic fertilizer.

Using these methods, you can apply the soil from your own site. To do this, you can carry out processing Bordeaux mixture, which contains copper sulphate and hydrated lime. To conduct only on the basis of recommendations of the manufacturer. This is the best way to disinfect. Then you can prepare an earth mixture, which contains:

Fertilizer or after perennial herbs. The best place for them is cucumbers, legumes and root vegetables. Poorly - after shrubs and, especially recently, which took a lot of nutrients from the soil during their long period of growth, in addition to being attacked by the same people, they suffered and got sick.

Soil cultivation is similar to growing on the early ridges of white villi. Good cauliflower is used when they are fertilized with organic and mineral fertilizers. Acid soils are fermented in the fall. For spring planting, cauliflower is grown in insects that look like early cabbage. The last harvest was planted in mid-June! Summer plants for growing cauliflower are planted outside. They must be thoroughly cleaned and, at the appropriate time, remove the cake and bacon.

  • soil - three parts;
  • sand is one part;
  • peat is one part.

If the land at the site was not fertilized, then to this mixture it is necessary to add superphosphate (60 gr.), Calcium chloride (30 gr.), Wood ash around one cup. For seedlings important components such as:

  • nitrogen;
  • potassium;
  • calcium;
  • phosphorus.

This mixture will help provide the plant with important elements in the soil. The same mixture is recommended for the first feeding of seedlings. This process is carried out after the appearance of 3-4 full leaflets.

Cauliflower plants are planted the same way as cabbage. They land on the spring harvest when they are bred. Autumn harvest - when teal hurts. They grow well and in harmony when wet enough. The soil and the surrounding air are saturated with water vapor. Therefore it is necessary to water them from time to time.

This is especially important, cauliflower fertilization of the beginning of plant growth is sufficiently strengthened and the beginning of the premature arousal of small heads. Fertilization diluted suspension, mineral fertilizers. Protection Frames from light. Large heads began to grow, the cauliflower leaves unfold and direct sunlight falls on the head. Since the sun's head changes color, it turns greenish-purple to become thin and fast. These heads are worthless. Thus, the leaders begin to grow, you must explore the area on a daily basis and the appearance of heads, accidents from the sides of their 1-2 leaves from direct sunlight.

Seed preparation

In order to seedlings, you should follow some rules for their acquisition and preparation. Seeds are preferably purchased at proven points of sale. It is imperative to pay attention to the implementation dates and the manufacturer.

Finishing Cultivation assigned to cauliflower, which until the autumn frosts do not cease to grow full-sized heads. The practice of the final cultivation of cauliflower, higher yields are obtained, in particular, they are responsible for production. For this purpose, children's cabbage sown in mid-June.

In October, cauliflowers dug in an attempt to minimize the damage done to their leaves and roots. Dug plants are sorted according to the immensity of the heads. The best harvest comes from the head, which during the excavation of Esti is 4-5 cm in diameter. The smaller head gives a lower output.

Seeds must be the same size. If not, then calibrate. Small seeds should not be used or planted separately.

Before planting seeds, they can be disinfected. To do this, simply drop the potassium permanganate into the solution and hold it for no more than 20 minutes, dry it. Plant 1-2 seeds in each pot, deepening by no more than 1 centimeter. If the seeds are planted in containers or boxes, then you need to sow in shallow grooves, keeping the distance between them no more than 3 centimeters.

Plants are built side by side in rows, and their roots on the first leaf are poured over the ground. When the air temperature drops to 3-4 ° cold, the windows are covered with braids or boards. Managers grow to normal size within 2-4 months, depending on temperature.

At higher temperatures, the head grows faster, but it justifies less and less. Using the final cultivation of cauliflower, you can get a crop in December and January. Record yields up to 34 kg from the window. Brussels sprouts produce a high pole. On the leg of the spiral leaves grow, and the leaves of the armpits - a lot of side sealed heart, which proves from a walnut to the size of a chicken egg.

At what time they sow: seed species for seedlings

For the timely maturation of the culture, it is necessary to respect the timing of seedlings. This is a very important point, especially for late-ripening varieties, so that the cabbage can ripen:

  • early ripening - 90-100 days;
  • middle ripening - 110-130;
  • late varieties - up to 150 days.

This is exactly the period necessary for the full ripening of cabbage. From the time of planting seedlings to harvest, regardless of when the cauliflower was planted in open ground.

Picking

If the low temperature environment is important for the white cabbage, then the cauliflower needs more heat. This fact does not mean that it does not tolerate low temperature conditions. The culture tolerates even frosts.

But for seedlings are important constant mode and the temperature is not below 20 degrees, lighting. Then the first shoots will appear already at 5-6 days. This is important to consider. The pick is held 7-10 days after the landing. How to dive? There is nothing difficult, and this procedure is no different from how other vegetables dive.

Important! After sowing cauliflower seeds for seedlings, in the future the main thing is not to miss the deadlines. An older plant takes root heavily.

Dive seedlings with extreme caution so as not to harm the very fragile root system. Dive should be in pots of peat and then they planted cabbage into the ground. It is advisable to carry out mulching after this event. To do this, fine wood ash, which is scattered over the surface of the soil.

Ten days before disembarking, it is necessary to temper the culture.  This can be done by placing the seedlings in the open air at the cottage or on the balcony if the seedlings are grown in a city apartment.

They do this in sunny, windless weather, if the temperature of the air does not fall below 10 degrees. Before sunset, seedlings are brought into the room. Before planting, make sure that the temperature in the room does not rise above 15 degrees, you can keep the seedlings in the greenhouse or on the balcony.

Planting cauliflower in the ground

Proper care of cauliflower in the soil is slightly different from the care of the more familiar white. This is due to the fact that the cultivation of cabbage of this variety requires a more attentive attitude.

The fact is that throughout the growing season, cauliflower maintains a weak root system. Moreover, the optimum temperature for this culture is about 18 degrees. If the temperature of the environment is higher, then this is reflected in the formation, size and taste of the heads.

But this is only the result of selection. If the seeds for seedlings of the modern variety or the seedlings themselves were subject to the hardening procedure, they can withstand even frosts up to five degrees below zero. But, if the heads are formed at high temperatures, more than 25 degrees, then they become loose and tasteless. In addition, it is possible to grow cabbage, if the recommendations are followed, at least presented in this article.

  1. There is a certain pattern of planting cauliflower, which is desirable to adhere to.
  2. Be attentive to questions like.
  3. In a timely manner to make dressings and process from pests, diseases.

But most important are the terms of sowing and planting, as well as the composition of the soil. Planting cauliflower in open ground is carried out according to a certain scheme. Along with this should be considered time. In addition, you need to determine exactly when you can plant, and when it is not recommended.

In all likelihood, the soil has been prepared, the seedlings are strong and beautiful, even if grown on a window sill, we make a landing in the ground. The soil must be wet. To do this, it can be watered the night before.

We have already said that it is best to plant along with peat pots. This is another additional protection and nutrition for the root system. Observe the following scheme.

  1. Break the plot into squares.
  2. The distance between the holes - 25-30 centimeters.
  3. The distance between the rows is 70 centimeters.
  4. If late varieties are planted in the garden, then these figures can be reduced by 10 centimeters.
  5. In the hole, drop the plant along with a pot to the first leaves and prikopat.
  6. To produce watering.

There is nothing difficult in such a scheme. However, planting and gardening need further attention. When and how to plant, does not matter, especially if it is early varieties. The main thing is that the threat of night frost is over. There are doubts, then you can plant at intervals of several days.

So even more profitable, because the ripening time will be different, thanks to this, you can use each mature plant alternately. After all, the culture should not overripe, otherwise the heads can throw out seed pagons and then it is not recommended to take them as food.

Before you need to determine in advance the place for this. We have already said that it is desirable that the soil be prepared from the autumn period. If this does not happen, then it can be fertilized by it after the snow has completely melted.

Seeds of late varieties are sown first, then saplings dive. Early profitable plant immediately seedlings and do not grow from seed. This significantly reduces the ripening time.

Important! If the soil is well fertilized - this is boldly late varieties of cabbage seeds. If you plant seedlings, then in each hole you need to add wood ash.

It must always be remembered that cauliflower, like the rest of its relatives, is prone to fungal diseases. It is advantageous to plant it in those areas where they had previously grown:

  • tomatoes;
  • potatoes;
  • beet;
  • cucumbers;
  • dill.

These are the plants that can disinfect the soil from fungal diseases.
  You can pickled cabbage at the time of transplant further process the roots. To do this, it is enough to lower the plant root into a weak solution of potassium permanganate or Bordeaux mixture.

Also, marigolds, dill are planted between the rows, and bushes of skewed nettles are placed between the rows and at the root. This is all an additional tool in the fight against diseases and pests.

Cabbage on the plot and planted material needs protection, which consists in timely feeding and pest control.

Cauliflower protection

Despite the best efforts of breeders, most varieties of cauliflower are still poorly adapted to our climate. But if you regularly take care of the culture, then she will definitely thank. It is simple, those gardeners who regularly cultivate such a crop will agree with this.

According to their statements, it is possible to understand that it is worth trying once and that this beautiful woman will become an annual crop on a backyard bed. More experience is not needed. Prepare the land, sow, care for a little and reap.

Cauliflower, like many other varieties, fell in love with numerous pests. If you notice, it is constantly mentioned about the Bordeaux mixture. This is a unique composition that will help get rid of many problems on the site.

And not only during the cultivation of cauliflower, but also many other vegetable crops, trees, bushes. The main thing is to maintain the proportions recommended by the manufacturer. This mixture of copper sulfate and lime destroys almost all pests on the plant itself, on the soil, in the soil, without damaging the crop.

On its own plot and in the house there are organic products that will help fertilize the plant. It:

  • yeast;
  • tincture of onion peels, garlic;
  • nettle.

As a rule, any country site can boast an abundance of nettle on the site. Those with more experience know that this is a unique tool. If you put it between the rows, it is able to saturate the soil with useful substances, retain moisture, scare away pests. Water tinctures are a unique organic fertilizer, a source of nitrogen and phosphorus.

The yeast is dissolved in settled water, after which the plant is fertilized by adding it to the water for irrigation. Tinctures of onion peels and garlic, also scare away many pests.

What you should pay attention to in the process of growth

Like any other cabbage, a cauliflower always shows by its appearance that something is missing, something is hindering normal development. Any problem can be eliminated if the plant looks a bit sluggish, spots, caterpillars, aphid appear.

These tools quickly solve any of these problems.  But for any cabbage, and color is not an exception, a disease such as keel is very common and dangerous. If none of the methods helped, the plant continues to wither, then it is necessary to check the condition of the root.

To do this, carefully dig it out of the ground and check the root. If there are even small growths, then it speaks of the keel started. Save the plant is impossible. It dies, as the disease prevents the admission of moisture and nutrients.

Moreover, if the diseased plant is not disposed of, then there is a risk of infection of the entire crop. Sick plants are burned, disposed of far from the site. Disputes are so tenacious that they can infect the earth, even dropping to the surface with smoke. Kila is not afraid of chemicals and open fire. But, the tools proposed here will help to collect a rich harvest of cauliflower.

Everyone knows that cauliflower is an indispensable product of dietary and baby food, surpassing the content of vitamins and proteins, even our favorite white cabbage.

But it’s not always possible to grow this valuable vegetable in your area: either the heads are not tied, or the inflorescences darken, then instead of the desired dense white ball, loose, thin greenish “flowers” are obtained.

How to grow cauliflower? Let's look at the main techniques of its agrotechnology.

Our main task in growing cauliflower is to provide the plants with all the conditions for early and harmonious flowering, because the white “head” of cauliflower is nothing more than an unblown inflorescence tightly adjacent to each other.

What do you need flowers? Phosphorus, potassium and boron. By increasing the content of these elements in the soil while limiting the nitrogen components, it is possible to shorten the growth of green mass and speed up flowering.

Cauliflower is most often grown through seedlings. To ensure a harvest throughout the summer-autumn period, seeds for seedlings can be sown three times.

  • Sowing seeds for early varieties and cauliflower hybrids is carried out from March 5 to March 30 with planting in the soil in 25-60 days, that is, from April 25 to May 15.
  • For medium late cauliflower varieties, seeds are sown from April 10 to May 10, and seedlings are planted in open ground in 35-40 days (from May 20 to June 15).
  • Late varieties of cauliflower are planted on seedlings from May 25 to June 10 with planting plants in open ground in 30-35 days (from July 1 to July 10).

Before planting seedlings on the seedlings of cauliflower, dressing in potassium permanganate, as well as hardened with alternating temperatures.

Since cauliflower seedlings do not tolerate a pick, it is better to plant seeds in peat pots or plastic cups filled with nutritious soil right away.

Cauliflower does not like acidic soil, which means that the reaction of the soil mixture should be closer to a neutral pH (6-6.5). It is recommended to prepare the mixture for cauliflower seedlings in the following proportions:

Option 1.

  • lowland peat - 3-5 parts,
  • rotted sawdust - 1 -1.5 parts,
  • mullein - 1 part.

Option 2.

  • humus - 10 parts,
  • lowland peat - 1 part,
  • sand - 1 part.

Some summer residents immediately add mineral fertilizers to the peat mixture: superphosphate, potassium sulphate or nitrate, and ammonium nitrate. Others prefer foliar and root dressings of seedlings in the future. If you are a principled opponent of inorganic fertilizers, apply ash to the soil for seedlings. Ash - an excellent organic source of potassium, in addition, it reduces the acidity of the soil and increases the content of phosphorus, boron and manganese.

When growing cauliflower seedlings, the right temperature is very important. Before germination, it is recommended to maintain the temperature at 18-20 ° C. After the emergence of seedlings, so that the seedlings are not stretched and not pampered, the temperature is reduced to 6-8 ° C, and after 5 days it is brought to 15-18 ° C during the day and 8-10 ° C at night. If cauliflower seedlings grow at high temperatures (above 22 ° C), then it may not form inflorescences at all and leave you without a crop.

Cauliflower is particularly demanding of such trace elements as molybdenum and boron. Therefore, when 2-3 true leaves are formed on a seedling, the seedlings are sprayed with a 0.2% boric acid solution (2 grams per liter of water). And in the phase of 3-4 leaves - a 0.5% solution of ammonium molybdate (5 grams per bucket of water).

A week before planting, fertilizing with nitrogen fertilizers is completely excluded, 2-3 days before planting, seedlings are fed with phosphorus and potassium (2-3 grams of superphosphate and 3 grams of potassium chloride per liter of water), which increases its cold resistance.

Preparing the beds and planting cauliflower seedlings

Planting cauliflower seedlings is best on a cloudy, but rather warm day on a well-lit garden, which last year grew beans or onions or cucumbers - these are the best cauliflowers. Before planting, rotted manure or a mixture of humus, peat and compost (10 kg. Per 1 square meter) can be applied to the soil.

Seedlings are planted according to a 50x25 cm scheme, adding handfuls of ash to each well. Plants are buried to the first true leaf and watered. Immediately after disembarking, still unrooted seedlings can be applied for a couple of days with nonwoven fabric or film. This procedure will also help protect young plants from the invasion of the cruciferous flea.

Top dressing, watering, care for cauliflower

Watering and loosening.

Cauliflower is less demanding on moisture than white cabbage. It is enough to water it once a week. Excessive moisture delays the formation of the head and disrupts the root system. Since the roots of cauliflower are located close to the surface, it is better not to loosen the soil under it, but to mulch it - with a peat mixture, humus or any other.

Feeding.

Cauliflower is fed 3 times per season. The first feeding is carried out ten days after transplanting into open ground. Then the cabbage is fed with an interval of two weeks. After tying the head, the feeding is stopped, so that the nitrates we do not need are not accumulated.

Feeding options:

  • Diluted mullein (1 part mullein per 10 parts water) or bird droppings (1 part litter per 15 parts water) with trace elements (boron, molybdenum, magnesium and manganese),
  • A mixture of 20 grams of urea, 20 grams of potassium chloride and 50 grams of superphosphate is dissolved in 10 liters of water.

Under each plant should be poured into a liter of a solution.

Shading.

When cauliflower first buds appear, do not forget to cover the head with broken upper leaves so that it remains snow-white. Leaves can be fastened with a usual clothespin.

Pest control.

If the cauliflower shows signs of fungal infection, then the plants should be sprayed with the drug "Fitosporin", which fights against pathogens in a natural way.

Against the main pests of cauliflower - caterpillars of the cabbage whitefish or cabbage shovels - use the biological product "Enterobacterin" or the infusion of burdock leaves. To prepare such an infusion, 1/3 of a bucket is filled with burdock leaves, topped up with water and infused during the day.

Harvesting and growing cauliflower

Cauliflower is harvested, focusing on its ripening time (it is always written on the package with seeds) before the “head” becomes loose, and the unopened buds will bloom for real.

If the plant from which the head is cut is healthy and the leaves are powerful, try to get a second crop from it. Leave on plants one of the strongest shoots that grow from axillary buds stalk, and remove all the rest. Do not forget to water and feed the cauliflower in the same way as when growing the main crop. With good care for plants, the heads can reach a weight of 400 to 500 grams.

Late cauliflower, which must be removed before the first frost, does not always have time to give a full head. Such cabbage can be grown. Plants with a large lump of land are dug out of the garden and transferred to a greenhouse or cellar. Cabbage is placed close to each other, sprinkled with earth and watered. In the period of growing the light cauliflower is not needed, it is only necessary to moisten the roots. Due to the outflow of nutrients from the leaves into the inflorescences, in two months from a small, underdeveloped “cabbage” one can get quite a decent cauliflower head.
